Woman raped in south Belfast

A woman was raped in south Belfast early on Wednesday.

Police have appealed for anyone who saw a woman in distress in the vicinity of Bradbury Place/Shaftesbury Square and Lower Donegall Road, between 01:30 and 02:30 BST, to contact them.

A police spokeswoman said she was seen with a man aged about 20. He had dirty fair hair, and was wearing a navy blue check shirt and blue jeans.

It is believed the man got into a black taxi at Bradbury Place.
