Show jumper Denis Lynch Olympic exclusion challenge dismissed

A show jumper who challenged a decision to exclude him from the Irish Olympic team has had his appeal dismissed.

Denis Lynch took his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) following his exclusion from Team Ireland.

The CAS said it did not have jurisdiction to rule on the matter.

Mr Lynch was dropped after his horse Lantinus tested positive for hypersensitivity three weeks ago.

Horse Sport Ireland said two other horses ridden by Mr Lynch had also tested positive for hypersensitivity in the last year.

Hypersensitivity in horses occurs when the nerve sensations or sensitivity in the legs increases beyond normal limits.
