Man hurt in east Belfast baseball bat attack

A 48-year-old man has suffered injuries to his leg and face during an assault in east Belfast.

He was attacked by a man with a baseball bat in Tower Street off the Newtownards Road shortly after 14:15 BST on Friday.

The victim's injuries are not life-threatening. The attacker is described as being approximately 5'8" tall and wearing a black hooded coat with a scarf over his face.

Police have appealed for information.
