Death of woman in Dundalk is 'suspicious'

Irish police are treating the death of a woman who was found in a house in Dundalk, County Louth, as suspicious.

The body of the woman, who was 34, was discovered at about 03:00 BST in College Manor, Hoeys Lane. It is understood there were children in the house at the time.

The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination and the state pathologist's office has been notified.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place later.

Gardai have been conducting house-to-house enquiries in relation to the incident.
