A man has been beaten with hammers at his home in Ballymoney.

At about 20:30 BST on Tuesday, the 43-year-old victim heard banging on the door of his Carnany Drive home, before three masked men forced their way in.

They then used hammers to assault the man.

Police have described it as a paramilitary-style attack, but said they do not know what the motive was for it. They have appealed for information.

One of the attackers was about 5ft 11ins tall, slim and in his early 20s. He was wearing a yellow hooded top and light blue jeans.

The second man was about 6ft tall, slim and wearing a green top and jeans.

The third was about the same height, of medium to stocky build and wearing a black top or coat with zip front and blue jeans.
