Police dog 'tracked man for 40 minutes'

A 28 year old man who was arrested after being tracked by a police dog for 40 minutes has been charged with a series of motoring offences.

He was charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and using a motor vehicle without insurance.

He is due to appear at Omagh Magistrates Court on 16 October.

A 31 year old woman was arrested on suspicion of disorderly behaviour and obstruction of police.

She was later released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The arrests happened after a car sped off from a police check point in the Camplagh Road area of Kesh, County Fermanagh on Saturday.

Police say that the car stopped two minutes later, the man ran off and a police dog tracked and found him about about 40 minutes later.
