Man beaten after crossbow attack in Armagh

A man has been beaten with hammers after a crossbow bolt was fired at him in Armagh.

Three masked men went into a house at Gough Avenue in the city at about 22:30 BST on Tuesday.

They fired a crossbow at the 42-year-old man and when it missed, they then attacked him with hammers.

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening. Police have appealed for information.
