Woman hit with gun butt in Belfast restaurant robbery

A woman has been hit on the head with a butt of a gun during an armed robbery at a restaurant in north Belfast.

She was attacked when two masked men, both carrying guns, entered the restaurant on the Cavehill Road shortly after 22:00 GMT on Wednesday.

The gunmen threatened staff and struck the 41-year-old woman with one of the weapons, before escaping with money and car keys. She was treated in hospital.

Police have appealed to witnesses to the robbery to contact them.
