Boy, 8, critical after Belfast car crash

An eight-year-old boy is critically ill in hospital after he was injured in a car accident in west Belfast.

It happened at about 15:00 GMT on Tuesday on the Grosvenor Road.

Police are appealing for information about the collision which involved a light-coloured 4X4 vehicle and a pedestrian.

The road was closed for a time but has since reopened. Witnesses are asked to contact the police.
