Four police officers have been injured after a car that was being pursued by the police at speeds of up to 100mph collided with two PSNI vehicles.

The chase began when a Volkswagen Golf failed to stop for officers on the M1, near Belfast.

The vehicle was pursued along the motorway and it crashed into the PSNI cars as it left the Westlink at Divis Street.

None of the officers were seriously hurt. Three men have been arrested.

A police spokesperson said the men, who are all in their 20s, were detained on suspicion of burglary and motoring offences.

They remain in custody.
