Man shot four times during Newtownabbey attack

A man has been shot in both legs in what police have described as a "paramilitary-style shooting" in Newtownabbey, County Antrim.

The 20-year-old was walking along a pathway in Ballyronan Park at about 17:35 BST on Tuesday, when he was approached by a number of men.

The men shot him four times - twice in each leg.

He was taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the attack to contact them.
