Tates Avenue in south Belfast reopens after alert

Tates Avenue in south Belfast has been reopened after being closed due to the discovery of a suspicious object.

A controlled explosion was carried out on the object and police said it had been removed to "determine its nature".

An earlier security alert in Greenisland in County Antrim has ended. Army bomb disposal experts were called to the Shore Road following reports of a device in the area.

However, nothing was found during a subsequent search.

The Shore Road has reopened.
