Fire at former factory in Newtownabbey investigated

The cause of a fire at a former factory in Newtownabbey, County Antrim, is under investigation by the police.

The blaze at the derelict building on Glenville Road was reported at about 20:15 BST on Saturday.

Kenny McEwan from the Fire and Rescue Service said up to 25 firefighters were involved in the two-hour operation to extinguish the fire.

Mr McEwan, a station commander at Glengormley, appealed to young people to stay out of derelict buildings.
