Duncan Rugs closes with loss of 12 jobs
A County Down rug company has closed causing the loss of 12 jobs.
Administrators were appointed to Duncan Rugs, of Newtownards, on Friday, but said they had no choice but to make all employees redundant.
According to a statement by the administrators, directors had concluded the company was insolvent following a difficult period of trading.
Duncan Rugs was set up over 30 years ago by David Duncan, and is a global importer and distributor of rugs.
One of the administrators, Andrew Dolliver, said: "It is regrettable we have had to close Duncan Rugs.
"Our immediate review concluded that continuing to trade was not commercially viable and it is with regret that I had no alternative but to make all workers redundant with immediate effect."
