Man faces gun charges after north Belfast searches

A 49-year-old man is facing gun charges after police searches in north Belfast.

He was arrested along with a 17-year-old youth on Thursday morning when officers searched two houses in Hillman Street and Little Georges Street.

Police have charged the man with three counts of possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances.

He is expected to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Friday. The teenager has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

He had been questioned on suspicion of drugs offences.
