Footballer Conor Devlin contests assaulting Jim O'Hanlon

An Irish league footballer is to contest a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Cliftonville goalkeeper Conor Devlin, 22, of Hightown Rise, Newtownabbey, is due to appear in court in August.

It follows an incident on a night out in Belfast in January, when he is accused of assaulting Glentoran footballer Jim O'Hanlon.

A judge at Belfast Magistrates Court was told that two witnesses would be called to give evidence.

Mr Devlin is due to appear in court in Belfast on 27 August.
