PSNI officers to stand trial in Cookstown locker case

Three police officers have been told they will stand trial accused of perverting the course of justice.

A judge found that sergeants Geoffrey Ellis and Harry McMahon, and Const David Power, all had a case to answer.

None of the three made any comment as they were committed for trial.

The case centres on the alleged unauthorised removal of items from a locker in Cookstown PSNI station. The locker belonged to Geoffrey Ellis.

All three men were remanded on bail to be arraigned at Omagh Crown Court on 9 October.

David Power's address was given as Sprucefield PSNI station and Harry McMahon's address was given as Dungannon PSNI station.
