The emergency department at the Ulster Hospital is back to normal after being "under significant pressure" earlier, health authorities have said.

The South Eastern Health Trust said ambulances were now being accepted at the hospital after they were diverted for about two hours.

Earlier, it said that "internal escalation measures" had been put in place as a result of the pressures.

It added that patients had been experiencing "longer waiting times".
