NIE: Power cut affects about 800 homes in Castlerock and Coleraine

A power cut affecting hundreds of people in County Londonderry is not related to overnight storms, Northern Ireland Electricity has confirmed.

About 800 homes in Castlerock and Coleraine lost their supply on Monday evening, due to a transformer fault.

A spokesman for NIE said engineers were trying to fix the fault, but the repair could take up to four hours.

Meanwhile, NIE staff are still working to restore power to about 150 homes who lost power during adverse weather.

The spokesman added that any customers who have concerns about their supply should call NIE on 03457 643 643.
