Four men charged after Carrickfergus guns find

A fourth man has been charged after four suspected guns were found in Carrickfergus on Saturday.

Police found the guns after stopping a car in the town's Minorca Place.

As police were questioning the man in the car, three other men turned up and there was what police have described as an "altercation".

The three ran away but were arrested a short time later. Three men, aged 29, 33 and 35, have been charged with assault and disorderly behaviour.

A 24-year-old man has been charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, no insurance and driving without due care and attention.

He is due in court in Belfast on Monday.

The three other men are to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Thursday 12 March.
