The woman who died following a crash between a car and a lorry was 54-year-old Aurelia Kelly from Ballymena.

The collision happened on the Frosses Road in Ballymoney, in County Antrim at about 14:50 GMT on Thursday.

Mrs Kelly, who was the driver of the car, died at the scene. A male passenger in the car was taken to hospital.

The Frosses Road was closed but has since reopened.

Inspector Watt said: "Enquires are continuing and anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage or any other information, should contact police."

The Bishop of Connor, Rt Rev George Davison, who knows the Kelly family, said Mrs Kelly was "much loved by her family and by the parish families in Connor diocese where she lived and served".

"She was a lady who made a wonderful contribution to the lives of those around her," he added.
