Man stays in bed for Londonderry crown court appearance

A man appeared at Londonderry Crown Court from bed via video link from the hospital of Magheraberry prison.
Brendan Lillis, 59, from Ladybrooke Crescent in Andersonstown, in Belfast, was arraigned on charges related to an attempted tiger-kidnapping last year.
He pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiring to falsely imprison, and conspiring to kidnap and rob a woman in Magherafelt in October last year.
He also pleaded not guilty to charges of carrying and possessing a firearm.
Two prison officers stood by the defendant's hospital bed during his arraignment on Friday.
A trial date has yet to be fixed.
