A four-year-old Strabane girl has been hailed a hero by her parents for her swift actions after her dad suffered an epileptic fit.
Little Madison Duffy knew exactly what to do when her dad Austin took ill and collapsed on Tuesday.
Instead of panicking, Madison pressed an emergency call button and told the operator who responded to send the police.
Her mother Gillian said she was very brave.
"She was left with her Daddy for half an hour to allow me to attend an appointment and unfortunately on this occasion he happened to take a fit," she said.
"He has an alarm in the house so Madison pressed the button and told the women to call the police."
Gillian said her daughter knew exactly what to do.
"She has seen how I've dealt with her daddy since she was really small. She takes everything in.
"Madison was there when the man installed the alarm and told us how to use it. She remembered.
"She's really smart for her age. I'm really proud of her."
Gillian said it was fortunate the epileptic fit wasn't more serious.
"Austin's seizures range from mild to really bad ones when I have to inject him with medication so we were lucky enough on this occasion that it wasn't a very serious one.
"He very tired but he's doing ok. The police officers who responded told Madison she was a really good girl. I'm sure she'll be spoiled for the rest of the week."
