Metal bucket thrown at taxi
A Londonderry taxi driver says he could have been killed after a bucket was thrown at his car in the early hours of New Year's Day.
The bucket was filled with sand and was being used as an ashtray outside a bar on Spencer Road in the Waterside.
The man, who does not want to be named, says it was a traumatic ordeal.
"I saw it coming towards me. It shattered the windscreen and left a huge dent in it, " he said.
"I was quite shocked, there was glass everywhere. It could have hit me on the head. "
The taxi driver is now out of work while his car is being repaired.
The police said a serious collision was narrowly avoided.
