Big GAA plans for Derry Culture year

The GAA has outlined their programme of events for Derry-Londonderry's year as UK City of Culture in 2013.

GAA President Christy Cooney made the announcement at the Culturlann Centre on Thursday.

He described it as a special year and an opportunity to showcase its games, tradition and music.

"We believe it's incumbant on us to support Derry City in this historic year through all our clubs and the Derry County Board," he said.

Mr Cooney confirmed that the under-age Feile Peil na nOg, All-Ireland Scor Finals, Ulster Senior Hurling Final, Colleges Football Finals and the GAA Annual Congress will all be hosted in the city next year.
