Londonderry woman convicted of benefit fraud of £57,000

A 52-year-old woman has pleaded guilty at Londonderry Crown Court to six charges of committing benefit frauds totalling £57,000.

Sharon Nelson, from Primity Crescent in Newbuildings in Derry, admitted the fraud over an eight year period.

The frauds include housing benefits, income and carer's allowances.

Nelson was released on bail and Judge Piers Grant ordered a pre-sentence report before she is sentenced on 8th November.
