Man on trial over ten sex assaults on sister

A 40-year-old man has gone on trial at Londonderry Crown Court charged with carrying out a series of sex assaults on his sister over a ten-year period.

The allegations include rape, attempted rape, indecent assault and inciting a child to commit acts of gross indecency.

The defendant cannot be named.

Prosecuting counsel said that the ten offences are alleged to have taken place between September 1985 and August 1995.

The court heard that the complainant attended both primary and secondary school within the ten year period.

The barrister said the offences allegedly took place in the family home.
