Police hand ninth expenses evidence file to prosecutors

The Met Police have handed a further file of evidence about parliamentary expenses to prosecutors.

This file will now be subject to Crown Prosecution Service consideration on whether there should be any charges.

This brings the total number of files about parliamentarians handed to the CPS to nine.

To date, six of these files have resulted in charges. The CPS decided there would be no charges brought in relation to two cases.

A small number of cases remain subject to consideration by the joint police and CPS assessment panel or are subject to continuing investigation.
