A murder inquiry has been launched after the body of a 61-year-old man was found in his house in Glasgow.
John McGinnity was found dead in his home at Shawholm Crescent, Pollokshaws, at 1530 GMT on Thursday.
A post-mortem examination was carried out and police are now treating the death as murder.
Det Ch Insp Robbie Allan said Mr McGinnity suffered a violent attack and someone in the local community must know something about the incident.
He said: "I would appeal to them, or anyone who may have any information at all, to get in touch with us.
Officers said they were conducting door-to-door inquiries and were in the process of gathering information on Mr McGinnity's movements over the past week or so.
