Woman killed in 'wrong way' crash on M8 in Glasgow

A woman has been killed and her teenage son seriously injured after their car was hit by another vehicle travelling in the wrong direction on the M8.

The woman's Fiat Punto was struck on the eastbound carriageway by a Renault Megane, near to J25 Cardonald, in Glasgow, at about 2335 GMT on Thursday.

The 53-year-old woman, from Renfrewshire, died at the scene.

Her 18-year-old son is being treated for leg and chest injuries. The Megane driver, 36, sustained minor injuries.
