Serious assault on man in Glasgow

A 18-year-old man is in hospital after being seriously assaulted in Glasgow on Friday night, police have said.

The victim was walking in Peat Road, near to St Robert's Church, in the Pollok area, when he was approached by three men at between 23:00 and 23:30.

One of the men then seriously assaulted him, police said.

The injured man was treated at the Southern General for upper body injuries. Hospital staff described his condition as stable.

The attacker was described as white, in his 30s with short cropped hair and he was wearing a black Nike tracksuit. He has a scar on his left cheek.

The two other men involved were both in their 20s with dark hair. One was wearing a light blue tracksuit and one was wearing a black tracksuit.

Det Con Sheila MacDonald said: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and officers are carrying out enquiries in the local area and checking CCTV footage in an effort to gather more information on this crime."
