The fish-ladder at Allangibbon Bridge, Earlstoun Loch, allow salmon to move up-river. Paul Thompson, form Manchester, said the dam is part of the Galloway hydro-electric power scheme.
The Gumball 3000 Rally arrived at Prestwick airport. Thomas Donachie, from Renfrew, was among the crowds who gathered to watch it.
Liz, Sue and 12 friends flew from Manchester to spend 11 hours walking 17 miles along Foinaven. Sharon Lakin, from Derby, said it was a girl's walking weekend.
Aberdonian Jess and friend Matt had fish and chips while watching the sunset over Stonehaven.
