RBS Edinburgh armed robbery: Five men charged
Police have charged five men in connection with an armed robbery of an Edinburgh branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland.
The incident happened at the bank in Home Street, in the Tollcross area of the capital, at about 12:00 on Thursday.
A group of men was said to have entered the bank and demanded money be handed over. No-one was hurt.
The men will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday 3 October.
The area around the branch was cordoned off by officers while an investigation got under way.
Detective Inspector Stuart Harkness said the incident had been a "frightening and intimidating experience for the staff and members of public at the branch."
