White line workmen hurt in Fife road crash
Two workmen have been injured in an apparent hit-and-run incident while they painted markings on a Fife road.
Police believe the car was overtaking when it hit the men on the A92 outside Ladybank just after midnight.
Fife Constabulary said the driver of a blue Peugeot 106 was traced and arrested and is now being questioned.
The workmen were taken to the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline. One man remains critically ill, while the other was released after treatment.
Ch Insp David McCulloch, head of road policing, said: "I would appeal to any person who may have witnessed this incident or saw a blue Peugeot 106 being driven northward on the A92 around midnight to contact the police."
