Diners take to the sky over Edinburgh

Diners have been taking to the sky over Edinburgh suspended 100ft from a crane above the Scottish capital.

The sky dining experience at the city's Princes Street Gardens forms part of Edinburgh's festival calendar and will run throughout August.

A dinner party of 22 people has been trying out the heights of culinary enjoyment at the Festival in the Sky.

The event has previously appeared in venues ranging from Monaco to Las Vegas.

Each sitting lasts for half an hour, and guests can book in for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner as well as a range of speciality events, including Burns suppers.

The guests are fastened into their chairs, and are rotated to allow them to look out over the castle and Princes Street.
