A man has admitted raping a teenager as she walked along a well-used footpath in broad daylight in West Lothian.
Andrew Hamilton, 23, attacked the 18-year-old as she emerged from an underpass near the centre of Livingston on 12 May.
Unemployed Hamilton followed and grabbed the teenager before ordering her to hand over her mobile phone and subjecting her to the sex attack.
His victim was so traumatised by the ordeal that she could not remember her home telephone number to ring for help.
The High Court in Edinburgh heard the retail assistant has now lost all confidence, never goes anywhere unaccompanied and feels unsafe all the time.
Judge Lord Tyre deferred sentencing to next month.
