A 30-year-old man has been taken to hospital with burns after a fire in a flat in the Dalry area of Edinburgh.

Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service attended the blaze, which broke out in a top floor flat in Springwell Place just before 1400 BST.

The man was taken to Edinburgh's Royal Infirmary, where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A vet was called to deal with a number of cats in the flat, which were also hurt.
