Aberdeen runner dies during Kilomathon race
A 25-year-old man has died while taking part in a road race in West Lothian, police have confirmed.
Andy Dunne, who lived in Aberdeen, collapsed in the main street in the village of Kirkliston, near Edinburgh.
He was in the latter stages of the Kilomathon, a 26.2km (16.3m) race, when he collapsed just before 1000 BST.
He was pronounced dead at St John's Hospital in Livingston. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and his next of kin had been informed.
The Lothian and Borders force will send a report to the procurator fiscal.
GSi Events, the race organisers, said it passed on its deepest sympathy to the runner's family and friends.
