Teenager attacked by group of men in Edinburgh

A teenager was taken to hospital after being attacked by a group of men in Edinburgh in the early hours of the morning, police have said.

The 18-year-old was assaulted in Ponton Street, in the Tollcross area of the capital, at about 0300 BST

The victim had just left the Lava and Ignite nightclub when he and his friend were subjected to an unprovoked attack.

The teenager's jaw was broken and his friend suffered facial injuries. They were treated in the Royal Infirmary.

The main suspect is described as 17 to 23 years old, 5ft 10ins, with a medium build and short blond hair. He was wearing a red checked shirt and blue jeans.
