Pedestrian seriously injured in Midlothian car crash

A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being hit by a car near Lasswade in Midlothian.

The 54-year-old man was walking on the A768 Melville Dykes Road at about 1950 BST when the incident happened.

Lothian and Borders Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash or saw a man walking along the road at the time to contact them.

The man is being treated in hospital where his condition is described as serious.
