A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a pub landlord in East Lothian.

Lee McNamara, 23, from Musselburgh, is accused of killing Steven Curran, 47, who ran the Dolphin Inn at Whitecraig.

The father-of-two was found dead at the back of the pub at about 0200 BST on Thursday.

Mr McNamara was also been charged with stealing a car. He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody at Haddington Sheriff Court.

Following his death, Mr Curran's wife Jill said: "He was a very family-orientated man and myself and our two young daughters were the centre of his life."
