A further appeal for witnesses has been issued following the murder of Mohammed Nadeem Siddique in Glenrothes, Fife.

The local businessman, known as Toby, was shot dead during an incident in Forres Drive on 23 October.

Another man, who has not been named, was treated for gunshot wounds.

Fife Constabulary said a great deal of information had already been gathered, but urged anyone who might be able to help with the inquiry to contact them.

Ch Supt Tom Ewing said he wanted to hear from anyone who saw a man described as being in his 30's, with short brown hair, of stocky build and wearing a dark coloured zip-up top, in the area at the time of the incident.

He said a major incident room had been set up in Glenrothes police station and more than 50 officers were involved in the investigation to ensure that any information that might assist the inquiry could be captured "no matter how small".

He added: "A large police presence is being maintained in the area which serves the dual purpose of reassuring the public and ensuring that all residents in the immediate area are contacted by an officer through door to door enquiries."
