A section of the A7 in Midlothian which was closed on Monday due to severe flooding has reopened.

The section of road between the Sheriffhall Roundabout and the Sheriffhall Park and Ride is now "passable with care".

Diversions were in place to drivers on the commuter route between Midlothian and Edinburgh while the road was closed.

Heavy rain is being blamed for the flooding.
