Ski centre re-opens after wind damage

The longest dry ski slope in Europe has reopened after work was completed to repair damage caused by high winds.

Midlothian Snowsports Centre at Hillend, in the Pentland Hills, was forced to shut last Friday.

The roof of one of the smaller buildings at the centre was damaged and some of the matting was ripped.

Peter Boyes, Midlothian Council's sport spokesman, said: "Staff and contractors have worked hard to re-open the centre following damage."
