Police name pedestrian killed on road in Edinburgh

A pedestrian who died after being knocked down on an Edinburgh road has been named by police.
Alan Wilson, 35, who lived in the city's Wheatfield Terrace, was hit by a car on South Gyle Crescent just before 0900 GMT on Monday.
He had stepped out from behind a G4 Security van when he was struck by a grey Fiat Punto.
Lothian and Borders Police are still appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
