Man jailed over serious street attack in Fife

A 32-year-old man has been jailed for four years and six months for a serious street attack in Fife.

Steven Craigie, from Leven, pled guilty last month to assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and endangerment to life.

His attack on a 34-year-old man happened on 11 September 2010 in Den Walk, Methil.

He was sentenced at Glasgow High Court on Wednesday after pleading guilty on 21 January.

Det Insp Stuart Welsh, of Fife Constabulary, said: "Fife Constabulary has made it very clear that violent offenders will receive swift justice and violent crime will not be tolerated in Levenmouth.

"Victims of such violence deserve the respite that this sentence affords them."
