Woman in hospital after Edinburgh flat fire

A 72-year-old woman has been taken to hospital following a fire in a first-floor flat in Edinburgh.

The fire broke out in the kitchen of the property on West Pilton Crossway shortly after 1900 BST.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where she was given medical treatment for smoke inhalation.

Another woman, a 33-year-old, was also treated for smoke inhalation at the scene of the fire.
