Lennoxlove House has German X Factor for Till Bronner
Germany's version of the X Factor is coming to East Lothian, it has emerged.
For part of the series, one of the German judges will be based at Lennoxlove House, the 15th Century stately home near Haddington.
Tourism agency VisitScotland was asked to find a suitable house for judge Till Bronner to put around ten X Factor hopefuls through their paces.
Television crews will be filming at Lennoxlove from 21 to 24 June for the second series of the German show.
The show's other judges, chart-topping singer Sarah Connor and rapper Das Bo, will be based in Germany and Italy.
Based on the same format as the British version of the show, contestants go through four stages - auditions, bootcamp, judges' houses and the live shows.
Herr Bronner said: "I'm very excited to be coming to Scotland for our next X Factor jury house - it's a land with so much history and a distinct musical culture.
"Since I'm a professional musician, I wouldn't play the bagpipes in Scotland - in this country I would simply not get away with it.
"Hopefully I will get to see some bagpipes though, and maybe I could take some home and start practising for my next visit."
Malcolm Roughead, chief executive of VisitScotland, said: "Scotland definitely has the X Factor as far as our German visitors are concerned.
"Our research has shown that they love Scotland's scenery, our historic sites and our castles, and I am sure that the show's contestants will have a fantastic time during their stay at Lennoxlove."
Ken Buchanan, general manager at Lennoxlove House, said: "We're absolutely delighted to be welcoming Germany's X Factor contestants to Lennoxlove.
"They'll love the exclusive nature of the house and our traditional Scottish hospitality."
