Drivers killed in A720 bypass head-on car crash named

The two drivers killed when a car strayed into oncoming traffic on the outskirts of Edinburgh have been named by police.

Keith Miller, 36, from Penicuik, was travelling alone on the city bypass when the crash happened half a mile west of the Sheriffhall Roundabout.

His blue Skoda collided with a blue Ford Ka at about 0115 BST on Sunday.

The female driver of the other vehicle was identified as 31-year-old Yvonne Malone from Edinburgh.

Eyewitnesses said they saw one of the vehicles driving eastbound along the westbound carriageway before it collided with another car.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "An investigation is currently under way to establish the full circumstances surrounding the accident however we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

"We would appeal to anyone who may have any information about the incident to come forward immediately."
