The trial of Heart's midfielder, Ian Black, has been adjourned until February 2012.

The 26-year-old from Tranent in East Lothian, was not present in Edinburgh Sheriff Court when his agent, Andrew Houston, asked for the adjournment.

Fiscal Depute Michelle Young said the Crown did not object.

Black is pleading not guilty to possession of cocaine at the Lava & Ignite nightclub in Edinburgh's Tollcross on 16 May 2011.

Mr Houston told Sheriff David Hall that he had received information from the Crown, which he was investigating, but he did not believe that would be completed before the trial date.

Black was excused attendance at the intermediate diet on 17 January.
